Feeling Stuck? These 3 Coaching Questions Can Change Everything
We all hit moments where forward motion feels impossible.
Maybe you’re wrestling with a big decision.
Maybe you’re burned out, overwhelmed, or quietly asking yourself, “What now?”
As a licensed master social worker, a professional coach, and a behavioral health practitioner, I work with people navigating complex challenges—leaders, helpers, creatives—who want something more, but feel unsure how to move toward it.
And here’s what I know: You don’t need more advice. You need better questions.
Below are three powerful coaching questions I use with clients when they feel stuck. They’re designed to shift mindset, spark new insight, and help you reconnect with your strengths.
If one of these speaks to you, dig deeper.
1. What assumptions, if any, might you be making about this situation?
We all carry invisible stories—narratives that shape how we see the world. This question gently invites you to challenge those stories and ask, “Is that really true?”
When you uncover the assumption, you often uncover the way forward.
2. What strengths of yours can you build on to achieve this desired future?
In stressful moments, it’s easy to forget your own resourcefulness. But you’re not starting from zero.
This question helps you reconnect with your grit, your insight, your creativity—whatever’s gotten you this far—and use it to move with purpose.
Coaching is about reclaiming what’s already working and building on that.
3. What would change or be different for you if you accomplished this?
This is where momentum begins. When you imagine what success would actually feel like—not in vague terms, but in real life—something shifts.
Clarity sharpens. Motivation deepens.
It’s no longer a goal on paper. It’s a lived possibility.
You Don’t Need to Stay Stuck
Change is always possible, even when it doesn’t feel that way yet.
If these questions stirred something in you—an aha, a pause, a gut-level yes—that’s your readiness talking.
This is the work I do.
I help people like you untangle what’s next, reconnect with what matters, and take action—clear, steady, and supported.
